Realisation of the concept for a Master's thesis
In the 80s and 90s, Platzspitzpark, close to Zurich's main railway station, became a meeting place for dealers and drug addicts. Thousands of people flocked to Zurich to stock up on heroin and cocaine. Vera Humbel developed teaching materials for the film "Platzspitzbaby". The film is about the fate of a girl who grew up with her drug-addicted mother at the time of the open drug scene. Vera Humbel developed a digital drug trail as her master's thesis at the University of Teacher Education Lucerne. The app-based tour takes visitors on a 60-minute tour of seven hotspots of the scene on Zurich's public square “Platzspitz”. Through video clips, they meet directly and indirectly affected contemporary witnesses who talk about their everyday life on the Platzspitz. Individuals, private groups and school classes can start the tour after it opens at www.drogenparcours.ch.
