Wege zur Schweiz
seit 2022
How did the Swiss Federal Constitution come about? How did the rural population live in the 1840s? How did the last war on Swiss soil come about and what significance did it have for the development of modern-day Switzerland?
The "Wege zur Schweiz" project is dedicated to the historical development of Switzerland in public spaces and is planned to run for several years.
Various paths led to Switzerland as we know it today. The project, which is supported by an association, is dedicated to historical developments in Switzerland in order to make them visible in public spaces. One example that has already been realised is the "Sonderbundsweg" between Sins and Gisikon, which follows the traces of the military conflict that led to the creation of the modern federal state. A new project is being pursued with the Helvetic Trail, focusing on how Switzerland first gained a capital city in 1798 with Aarau and then Lucerne.
